■ The Great Bay University – The Chinese University of Hong Kong Joint Institute of Advanced Materials and Green Energy Research (JIAMGER, hereinafter referred to as the “Institute”) is located at the Songshan Lake Campus of Great Bay University. It was jointly established by Great Bay University and The Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2022.
■ The Institute addresses the technological innovation needs of the Greater Bay Area, focusing on serving the major needs and strategic development of the nation, the Greater Bay Area, and Dongguan City. Leveraging the research and innovation strengths of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Institute aims to create a world-class innovation base for green technology that integrates industry, academia, and research. The Institute relies on the academic and research strengths of the Faculty of Science at The Chinese University of Hong Kong to build innovative teams in fields such as advanced materials, green energy, carbon neutrality, resource recycling, and biotechnology. The current team includes recipients of the American Chemical Society’s George Olah Award, the Henry Storch Award, the Croucher Foundation’s Excellent Researcher Award, and the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars.
